Bryan Meyer of Iowa City, IA is your average guy next door. He works his butt off in a factory, 60-75 hours per week. When he isn’t working, he’s out riding his Bagger. It’s not uncommon for Bryan to hop on his Bagger and ride to Sturgis in 12 hours. He isn’t about flash, he is about performance. Bryan’s ’06 Street Glide is an example of what a typical American Bagger reader may ride.
Bryan’s first objective was to soup up the motor. Jim at Hawkeye Harley-Davidson handled the engine rebuild. A 95” kit was installed, but not one right out of the box. Küryakyn Wild Things pistons with 10.5:1 compression were installed with Screamin’ Eagle CNC ported/polished heads that were Diamond Cut along with the jugs. S&S gear-drive cams and lifters, and Screamin’ Eagle rocker arms and adjustable pushrods help to get this motor moving. A Screamin’ Eagle Race Tuner manages the fuel and a set of Rinehart True Duals evacuates the burnt fuel. Bryan’s Bagger is now rated at 100 usable horses.
The rear of the Bagger has been lowered with Harley-Davidson® Low Profile shocks. The front end has been powder coated black and lowered an inch. The front wheel is now a 21” Weld Racing HEXX with Avon rubber. The rear wheel is an 18 x 4” Weld Racing HEXX and is also equipped with Avon rubber. Wild 1 supplied the Chubby bars that have been powder coated black and now feature Küryakyn ISO grips. The front fender is from Iowa’s own Fat Baggers, Inc. The taillight is a Küryakyn Panacea; the floorboards are also from Küryakyn. Dakota Digital upgraded the stock gauges with their dresser kit. The stock head unit remains in place, but a Hawg Wired 150 watt amp and speakers allow Bryan to hear his music at high speeds.
We receive numerous letters asking for real-world Baggers. Bryan’s bike is just that; it’s not a show Bagger, it’s a daily rider. Bryan might not have the fanciest Bagger around, but it is a great example of what the average Baggerite can do over a couple of winters.
