Bob “Smitty” Smith of College Grove, TN loves his ’08 Road Glide; now that it’s not stock. It took Smitty and his buddies, Scott Hogan and Bruce Frantz of Wolverine Harley-Davidson, about six months to take this Bagger from mild to wild.
The 96” motor is virtually stock with the exception of a set of Rinehart True Duals and a Power Commander module. Snake Bit has been upgraded with a set of Renegade wheels, a 21” up front and a 16” out back. Both wheels are wrapped in Metzeler rubber. The stock handlebars have been upgraded with a set from Biker’s Choice and are equipped with Performance Machine grips and Yaffe Bagger Nation mirrors. A Klock Werks WFB windshield sits atop the fairing. The tail-dragging rear fender is a Ness Bagger Tail with a Ness taillight and license plate mount, which happen to match the stretched Ness Big Bags.
Showing off the Renegade wheel is a Klock Werks front fender. The stretched gas tank and dash mount are from Bagger Nation. Kingpin Industries custom made the seat to fit the Yaffe tank. Ensuring that Smitty can scrape the bags is a Legend Air Suspension system. The stock sound system has been upgraded with a Hawg Wired amp and speakers. Ray Bishop, of Bishop Designs, applied the PPG magenta and silver snake skin paint scheme. QC Coatings applied the powder coating.
Hopefully by the time Smitty sees his Bagger in the magazine, Tennessee will no longer be underwater and Bob will be back to riding.
