Semper Fi Tribute Bagger 6/2010

Rick Geslain of Myrtle Beach, SC was a Marine in the ’70s, his father was a Marine during World War II, and now his son is a United States Marine serving in Iraq. Rick decided to commemorate his love of the Marine Corps, his family and American Baggers by customizing a ’04 Harley-Davidson® Road King.

The Semper Fi Tribute Bike started out as a stock FLHR. Rick was happy with the stock motor and transmission, the only addition was a Rinehart true dual exhaust system. Rick concentrated his customizing efforts on the aesthetics.

The stock handlebars have been replaced with Beach Bars sitting atop six-inch risers. The front fender was modeled to resemble an Indian Motorcycle. The tail-dragging rear fender is from Bagger Bill’s Bike Works and features an airbrushed graphic of Marines raising the flag at Iwo Jima. The license plate frame has been molded into the fender. The stretched bags are also from Bagger Bill’s and feature his custom lids and Frenched taillights/turn signals. Every chrome accessory on the Bagger is from the Küryakyn catalog. The black and blue paint scheme was designed to match the Marine Corps Dress Blue uniform and was performed by Tommy Floyd of Vizual Changez. The “10 NOV” license plate commemorates the birthday of the Marine Corps - November 10, 1775.

We rarely shoot themed Baggers, but we were so moved by Rick’s story and his Bagger that we had to share it with our readers.
