I love customized police Baggers. You know that the owner got a good deal on the bike, and to get to the end result had a mountain of take-off parts. This ’01 FLHTPI was customized by Chad Beene of Beene’s Baggers, located in Conway, AR and only slightly resembles the original cop configuration.
Chad spent four months looking for the right cop Bagger. Once he bought this one, he rode it for 15 miles before completely tearing it down. Using a Nick Trask-built Electra Glide as his model, the neck was raked to 40° and the tubes were lowered an additional inch to get the perfect ride height to accommodate the 21” Renegade front wheel. The rear suspension was then lowered to correct the ride height. Chad’s goal was to lengthen the tail section as much as possible but still have a functional Bagger.
The bags were smoothed and extended six inches. The rear fender was smoothed and lengthened by ten inches. Chad made bag fillers to fill the gap between the bags and the rear fender; he then installed taillights in the fillers. Chad’s family owns Conway Collision Center and they were a natural choice to apply the bright, eye-catching yet classy paint scheme. Candy Apple Red with a gold-flake ground coat was used. The 88” injected Twin Cam motor is virtually stock with the exception of the BB modified Vance & Hines exhaust. I have a feeling that Chad learned how to fabricate by working in the family business.
Beene’s Baggers might not be a household name among American Bagger enthusiasts, but judging by what he can do with a cop Bagger; I have a feeling we will be seeing more great customized Baggers from Chad!
