RetroNess 10/2009

Arlen Ness commissioned Ken’s Customs to build a showcase motorcycle using Ness Retro parts and components. The bike was properly introduced at the 2009 V-Twin Expo. It was a rather intense build as Ken’s crew only had three weeks to complete the project.

An ’09 Harley-Davidson® Road Glide was purchased off the local showroom floor. Within one hour of being purchased it was stripped completely down to the frame, so much for that factory warranty. After that, an extensive list of aftermarket parts was installed on the bike, the majority being from Arlen Ness.

The 96” Twin Cam isn’t a slouch in the horsepower department, even though it looks like it’s all dressed up for a wedding. Performance Dual Left Side Ported Heads were installed by Biker’s PHD to massively increase flow and do away with the severe exhaust pipe bends seen on stock cylinder head/true dual exhaust systems. A Bassani custom exhaust system was also installed for use with the new heads.
